ONGATA RONGAI: Basic Needs - Kenya Network of Queer Refugee Sex Workers Led Organizations

KNESWO is an umbrella organization led by queer refugees in Kenya. Its primary Objective is to unite representative's of queer refugee sex workers to address shared concerns, particularly the diminishing resources and safe spaces for this community. KNESWO functions as an advocacy platform, coordinating strategic actions and providing support to strengthen systems and structures within member organization's. The organization&rsquo;s mandate includes creating a collective voice for queer refugee sex workers, advocating for their rights, and fostering a safe space for dialogue, problem-solving, and overcoming challenges within their communities Mission; The mission of KNESWO is to build a robust queer refugee sex workers movement in Kenya by creating a safe environment through coordinated efforts, conducting research, implementing policies, and enhancing the capabilites of its members. Vision; KNESWO envisions a coordinated and fully inclusive queer refugee sex worker population that is socially, politically, legally, and economically integrated into society. The organization acts as an advocacy plaƞorm, coordinating strategic actions, and supporting the strengthening of systems and structures for all members.
