Dadaab: Primary Health Care - IRC Main Hospital, Hagadera refugee camp

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and donors provides free primary healthcare services for refugees and the host community in Hagadera Refugee Camp. These services are also available at Hagadera Refugee Camp Hospital and Health Posts E6 and L6.

Services offered at Hagadera Refugee Camp Hospital

• Reproductive Health services include these 10 free maternity services for women and babies. 
• TB/ HIV Services - testing for case identification, treatment and prevention of infections
• Nutrition and well-being
• Primary Healthcare

Eligibility Requirements or Criteria for Accessing Services

• All people are eligible for IRC healthcare services at the Main Hospital and Health Posts E6 and L6.
• Appointments are only required for specialized clinics such as specialized outpatient palliative care (SOPC), Gynecological out-patient clinic (GOPC), pediatric outpatient clinic (POPC), and medical out-patient clinic (MOPC)
• Reproductive health and maternity services are provided for women only.
• Pediatric clinic and pediatric inpatient services are provided for children.
• Most at Risk Population (MARPS) Clinic provides services for LGBTQI+ individuals.
• These services are available for children and the age groups: Pediatric outpatient clinic (28 days to 13 years), Immunization clinic (Under 5 years).

• This location has separate patient wards and bathrooms for men and women.
• All services listed are free of charge.
• Interpretation for English, Kiswahili and Somali languages is consistently available at this premises.
• Female interpreters are available for the English, Kiswahili and Somali languages.
