Livelihood /Employment Support for Women and Girls - Women Centre 3

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) through its Women Protection and Empowerment (WPE) program offers various services that target women, girls and youth in Hagadera. 

Available services

1. Vocational training: technical-vocational skills training for women and girls in Hagadera.

2. Skill development workshops: Training groups on business and entrepreneurship skills development; financial support for youth and women such as Village Saving and Loans Associations (VSLAs).

• Information about starting a business in Kenya; support income-generating activities; and small-scale/dryland agriculture and farming. 
• Support to women groups in Hagadera Refugee Camp.

Eligibility Requirements or Criteria for Accessing Services

• Adults (over 18 years). 
• No appointment is required. 
• These services are available to female beneficiaries. 
• Available to LGBTQI+ individuals and all individuals. 
• GirlShine program for teen and pre-teen adolescent girls.

• The entrance to this location has a ramp.
• This location has female staff. 
• This location has separate bathrooms for men and women.
• ALL services listed are FREE of charge.
• Interpretation for Somali, Swahili, and English languages is consistently available at this premises.
• Services are available in the Somali, Swahili, and English languages by phone interpretation.
• Female interpreters are available for the Somali, Swahili, and English languages.

These services are also accessible at the IRC's Women Center 1, near Jarajila Secondary School and Women Center 2, which is directly adjacent to Block H-5 at Hagadera Refugee Camp.
